Of Dogs, Horses, and Little Kids Part II

February 10, 2008

Well the second adventure is probably not nearly exciting as the first. But here it is. We (The Mom, The Brother, The other Brother, and The Sister, and of course, Me.) decided to take a walk up to a local cafe to get a newspaper. I wanted to take Turbo so he could get used to weird things. Along the way we had a couple of people say hi, big dog, wow, etc. Once we got to the cafe, they were out of papers. So Mom ran in to get a muffin (they’re muffins are HUGE.) and a cup of  coffee. Coming back out, a lady stepped out saying, “Wow, there sure is!” and stepped back in. She brought her little boy out to see and pet Turbo. He (the kid) didn’t want to pet him, but didn’t want to leave, either. They finally went back in, so we started to leave. But lo and behold the kid comes back out with his grandmother! So we stop, turn around, he finally pets Turbo, and I tell him some facts about Turbo.(He’s three, how old are you? he was born in April, when where you born?) I don’t always say the same set of facts, I usually change it around depending on the kid. And I’m not totally sure the kid wanted to come back out, maybe it was an excuse for every member in his family to see the horse. On the way back home we stopped at a friends house and let the kids play for a bit. Also, we need to work on trash cans. Turbo’s not too keen on those big black things on wheels that are going to eat him!   Not the most exciting adventure, I know. Maybe we’ll have one soon.

PS. Turbo likes the muffins.

Of Dogs, Horses, and Little kids Part I

February 9, 2008

Ok, lots of happenings that I haven’t reported. So I’ll  do a couple of posts instead of one big humongous one.

First, we got attacked by a dog. A Big Dog. We(Turbo and I) were walking back from the field across the street where I was running him and letting him graze. ( Oh, and while there we got our picture taken by some guy with a cell phone for his niece.) We were coming back and a dog across the street found his gate to be open and decided to take advantage of this. So Turbo and I stop to see the dog. Turns out the dog does not  want to be friendly and wants some nice, fresh horse meat. Turbo’s like “yeah, sure whatever,  I don’t really care about dogs”. So he’s not freaked out like I am. Turbo finally realises the dog means business and starts running around in circles with the dog chasing him trying to bite him. I yell help and the dogs owner comes running out of the backyard and grabs the chain the dog is dragging, yells at the dog and yanks the dog back into the yard. The dog understood that he’s in trouble and all, so he tucked his tail and slunk away. I’m not too concerned about this happening again as the dog has no history of violent. He likes people, but not the biggest dog in the world with weird feet and a weird face! When you pet him he’s naturally kind of rough but that’s ’cause he’s so BIG. I’ll try to get a picture of him. Oh, and one more thing, Turbo’s not hurt. That’s right, the dog only got close enough to slobber on Turbo. No broken skin at all. I know, I know, you’re all disappointed because there’s no terrible story of going to the vet, the chance of rabies, all that good stuff, but really, I don’t have the money for all that. So I’m glad it turned out ok.

New Post

I was going to do a little post on how I groom Turbo but when I got outside, my camera wouldn’ t work, I burned my tongue on the cocoa I was drinking and Turbo wanted the cocoa. So, no post. Maybe later.
